14.10.010 Water service rates.

A. Water rates for agricultural, nonpotable agricultural, and general consumers shall be set forth in the annual budget.

B. Each consumer requesting an agricultural rate for water service shall submit an annual written application and supply an authorization for the department to obtain a copy of the state’s excise tax form G-45 or the federal internal revenue service’s schedule F or other federal internal revenue forms showing the consumer’s farm income. Existing lands with agricultural rate shall continue with that agricultural rate until the farm income use does not qualify for the agricultural rate.

C. General or agricultural water service will not be allowed from a meter for which the nonpotable agricultural rate is approved.

D. The penalty for using nonpotable agriculture water service to supply general uses is removal of the meter.

E. The penalty for providing water service to lots other than the lot to which the service is assigned is removal of the meter.

F. Water service requests by property lessees or licensees may be granted:

1. If requested and guaranteed by the fee simple owner of the property; or

2. A lump sum payment equal to a two billing period estimate must be deposited with the department as collateral for future billings. (Ord. 3558 § 1 (part), 2008)

14.10.020 Meter service charges.

The service charges for use of the department’s meters shall be set forth in the annual budget. (Ord. 3558 § 1 (part), 2008)

14.10.030 Fire water service rates.

The fire water service rates shall be set forth in the annual budget.

Water shall not be used from fire hydrants, standpipes and private fire systems for purposes other than firefighting, unless otherwise agreed to by the department. Water service usage as measured by detector check meters in private fire systems shall be billed at thirty-five times the meter reading. Water service usage as measured by fire meters reading the full flow shall be billed at one and a half times the total reading. If water usage can be shown to result from a fire, there shall be no charge other than the private fire system charge. (Ord. 3558 § 1 (part), 2008)

14.10.040 Temporary meter charges.

The meter service charge for all temporary meters shall be equal to the charge for a three-inch meter as set forth in the annual budget. In addition, there shall be an installation and conservation charge for all temporary meters. The installation charge shall be based on the cost of installation as determined by the department. The conservation charge shall be one and a half times the general water service rate as set forth in the annual budget. (Ord. 3558 § 1 (part), 2008)
