3.05.010 Authorizing the collection of fares for public transit services.
The collection of fares for public transit services is authorized. (Ord.

3.05.020 Definitions.
As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise
requires:
“Director” means the director of transportation of
the County.
“Fare” means the amount charged for public
transit services.
“Public transit services” or “public
transit” is defined as bus services, mass transit, or other transportation
service contracted or performed by the County for the benefit of the general

3.05.030 Fares.
The fares to be collected for public transit services shall be set forth
in the annual budget. The fares shall be deposited in the highway fund, as
established by section 249-18, Hawaii Revised Statutes. Fares collected and
deposited in the highway fund shall be used for purposes and functions connected
with public transit services. (Ord. 3384 § 1 (part), 2006)
3.05.040 Administration.
A. The director shall collect, or cause to be collected, fares for public
transit services.
B. The director, through the director of finance, may
contract with parties, private or public, as necessary to provide public transit
services and to collect public transit service fares.
C. The director
may adopt rules to implement this chapter. (Ord. 3384 § 1 (part),
