In accordance with Section 17304 of the Family Code, there is created a department in the county of Los Angeles, which shall be known and designated as the “child support services department”. (Ord. 2001-0012 § 1 (part), 2001.)

The child support services department shall perform such duties and responsibilities as are required and authorized by Section 17000 et seq. of the Family Code, other applicable provisions of state law, and such other duties and responsibilities as are directed by the board of supervisors. (Ord. 2001-0012 § 1 (part), 2001.)

The administrator of the local child support agency referenced in Section 17304(f) of the Family Code shall be known as the director of child support services. The department shall be under the direction and management of the director, who shall be appointed by the board. The director shall appoint all employees of the department.
